Breast Augmentation

Women whose breasts are undersized in proportion to the rest of their bodies often feel they are less feminine than women with fuller breasts. At the very least, they may have trouble finding what they feel are stylish, flattering clothes, since most apparel is designed for a figure of average proportions. In either case, the result can be a weakened self-image and a lack of self-confidence. In breast augmentation surgery, a soft silicone pouch filled with saline solution is inserted into the breast through an incision in the crease under the breast, in the lower edge of the areola (the dark circle around the nipple), or in the armpit. The location of the incision varies with each patient and is planned to best conceal surgical scars. The breast implants may be placed either under the breast tissue or under the muscle that lies beneath the breast tissue. Like the location of the incision, the placement of the implants depends on the individual patient's situation. Breast Lift

We offer breast lift surgery at our Atlanta, Georgia and Lake Ocone area practice for women who are more concerned about the shape of their breasts than about their size. These women have breasts that are proportionate to the rest of their bodies but have sagged due to pregnancy, weight gain and loss, or simply the force of gravity through the years.

To lift sagging breasts, we remove excess skin from the area surrounding the areola, the dark circle around the nipple, and, in some cases, from the lower breast. The effect of a successful breast lift is to tighten the breast skin in all directions. To further achieve a youthful look, we may relocate the nipple and areola upward on the breast.

Many of our breast augmentation patients also have a breast lift procedure, allowing them to achieve a bust line that is not only fuller, but has a more youthful contour as well.
